BOXING.
BOUTS AT AUCKLAND. PLUTO DEFEATS’ FISHER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Tuesday. A bright programme was staged by the Auckland Boxing Association at the Town Hall last night before a packed house. The main attraction was a professional catch-weight contest between Cyril Pluto, of Australia, and Fred Fisher, of England, Pluto gaining a decision on points at the end of twelve three-minute rounds.
A second professional bout was staged between two middle-weights, Jim Broadfoot, of Auckland, and Marine Ryan, of H.M.S. Dunedin, the latter scoring a comfortable win on points at the conclusion of five tjireeminute rounds.
