The semi-final gallops of horses engaged at the Waikato Racing Club’s Winter meeting took place this morning when much interesting work was accomplished. Condition of Tradesman. Tho success of Cyllaros in the Trial Handicap at Te Awamutu on Saturday makes him ineligible for the Maiden Handicap at Te Rapa on Saturday. He lias been paid up for in the hack mile in which he must he conceded a chance after his attractive performance at. Waipa. Sansfoy. Sansfoy has not done well since his enforced brief rest after his double success at Hie Manawatu Autumn meeting, and his owner-trainer may now not ask much from him till next spring. Showing of London. London proved a disappointment in the steeplechase at Te Awamutu, but lie should improve on that outing and may do better in his engagement in the Waikato Steeplechase. A. Jenkins’ Rides. A. Jenkins has been engaged to ride Clarion Call in the Great Northern Hurdles. Clarion Call is expected to arrive at Ellerslie early this week under the care of his trainer, L. G. Morris. A Promising EfTort. Golden Ridge, who was responsible for a promising effort In running second to Night Spl at the Dannevirke meeting recently, has been sold by his breeder, Mr R. A.
