EXPLOSION IN MINE.

BRISBANE, May 17Four men were killed when they were entombed by an explosion last night in the Aberdare Colliery, No. 2 mine, at Dinmore, near Ipswich. The victims were Christopher Yeoman, aged 55, Edward Turner, 45, Robert Binnie, 52, and Albert Perov, 50.
The men were alone in a shaft where they were endeavouring to cut off from the main workings an old fire in one of the drives. Immediately the explosion was heard rescuers descended, but could not reach the four miners because of a heavy fall of earth. THE BODIES RECOVERED. BADLY BURNED AND MUTILATED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 18. 11 am.) BRISBANE, May 18. The bodies of four men, badly burned and mutilated, have been recovered. It is believed that the miners were having a meal when the explosion kn-ocked them unconscious, and that the llames then swept over them. The rescuers lost no time in bringing the bodies to the surface, because the flames were rapidly approaching them.
