WEDDING.

MORTON —FOSTER. The marriage was solemnised at St. Paul’s Church, Hamilton, on Saturday evening between Beryl Lilyan, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs G. B. i Foster, of Hamilton, and Hubert Fen- j nell, only son of Mrs M. Morton, of Ponsonbv, Auckland. The Rev. R. B. j Tinsley performed the ceremony and Mr H. G. Cook Mus. Bac. presided at : the organ. The church had been very beautifully arranged with chrysanthemums in autumn tints and asparagus fern.

The bride who entered the church with her father looked charming. She wore a very lovely gown of pale gold needlerun lace cut on mediaeval lines, the neckline being slightly gathered and fastened with diamante clips. The bodice was arranged with an attractive gauged panel down the front and the Dolman sleeves clasped at the wrist. The skirt was close fitting to the kneeline and swept to a long graceful train and a plaited belt was worn at the waist. She wore a beautiful veil of pale gold silk spotted net arranged at the head in Anne Boleyn cap fashion caught with dainty sprigs of orange blossom on either side, and

falling in soft folds to a very long train. She carried a lovely sheaf of cream dahlias, nasturtiums, rosebuds and maidenhair fern, tahe gift of a friend. The bridesmaids were the Misses Gwendolyn Foster (sister of the bride) and Nada Jarrett of Whakatane (cousin of the bride). They wore similar frocks of gold shaded taffeta cut on beautifully fitting lines and plain in front. The high neckline was trimmed with a band of ruching which continued to the back in V shape to the waistline, then falling into a long train trimmed with ruching in dia- ; rnond shape. The armholes were finished with a band of ruching and the hemline was also ruched, while a girdle of the plaited taffeta defined the waistline. They wore halos (of plaited taffeta with eye veils of toning tulle which ended in a point at the shoulders at the back, and carried sheaves of gold chrysanthemums and autumn tinted leaves. Little Leone Walshe (niece of the bridegroom) was the flowergirl and wore a dainty frock in ■ gold georgette in Early Victorian design. The bodice was fashioned with ; puffed sleeves trimmed with tiny frills and high waisted. and the skirt was trimmed with alternate frills and tucks. She wore a halo of rosebuds with toning tulle veil similar to the bridesmaids, and carried a miniature posy in gold tonings. Mr Roy Wilson was the best man and Mr Martyn Mayston, of Cambridge, groomsman. Mr Trevor Gilling and Mr Graham Absolum were the ushers.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, which looked delightful with Iceland poppies and chrysanthemums in gold tonings and maidenhair fern. A large cream wedding bell hung over the bridal couple. The three-tiered wedding cake was made by the bride’s aunt. The guests were received by Mrs Foster who wore a graceful frock of navy charmeuse with diamante trimming, smart navy Glengarry hat with white quill, and white ermine coat. She carried a posy of Mina Lobata in coral pink. Airs Alorlon, mother of the bridegroom was wearing a charming frock of navy craquelle w r ith attractive navy hat and white panne velvet coat and carried a posy in autumn tonings.

Mrs J. Foster, grandmother of the bride, who was present, was wearing a frock of black matalasse with black hat and black and white fur coat. She carried a bouquet in mauve shades. Mrs E. G. Walshe, of Auckland (sister of the bridegroom), wore a frock of shell pink lace embossed in silver, with white ermine coat.

When Mr and Mrs H. F. Morton left by car for the honeymoon the bride travelled wearing a smart navy tailored costume and navy felt hat with white Angora cowl scarf and toning accessories.

They will make their home in Ham ilton.
