COMING-OF-AGE PARTY.

FOR IWIBB EVELYN BCOTT. Mr and Mrs George Scott were host and hostess <at a Very happy coming-of-age party held in the Centreway Tearooms, on May 9, when their daughter. Miss Evelyn Scott, attained her majority. Mrs Scott received her guests wearing a frock of black tinsel crepe relieved with wine and Miss Scott was weaning l silver lame relieved with a pink spray. A very happy time was spent with dancing, and musical and elocutionary items were very much appreciated by all present. Mr J. C. Gerrand, Ngaruawahia, after eulogistic references, proposed the toast of the guest of the evening, which was .warmly honoured. Mr Scott replied and handed his daughter a handsomely cut key, Miss Scott suitably replying. A toast was also drunk to Mr and Mrs Papesch, grand-parents of Miss Scott who were present. The beautiful two-tiered 'birthday cake, which was iced in white and gold was then cut. Items were given by Miss B. Binns, Miss Stewart, Mr Lang, Mr ,K Scrimshaw. Mr J. Kilfburn, and the Mouth Organ Band, and Mrs E. Holmes. I Visitors were present from Auckland. Patamahoe, Pukemiro, Ngaruawahia. Te Aroha. Te Awamutu, Palmerston North and Wanganui.
