OBITUARY.

MR WILLIAM HINCHEY. LONG TERM OF PUBLIC SERVICE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Saturday. The death of Mr William Hinchey (71), chairman of the Power Board, occurred to-day. Deceased was born in Invercargill and had a long record of public life. He was several times Mayor of Bluff and was chairman of the Bluff Harbour Board. For several years he had been chairman of the Power Board, and had held many other public offices, lie unsuccessfully contested the Wallace seal against the Hon. Adam Hamilton at the last election. He was the author of the hook ” Commercial Civilisation.” lie is survived by a widow, a son and two daughters.
