MOVE BY JAPAN. TROOPB SENT TO CHINA. BRITISH GOVERNMENT NOTIFIED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 16, 11.0 a m.) LONDON, May 15. The Sun-Herald says that Japan has notified Britain that Japanese reinforcements are immediately moving into North China, some going to Tientsin and some to Peking. Additional troops will be dispatched next week. The Japanese assert that the movement is necessary to protect tiie increased numbers of Japanese nationals in North China and to check the growing activities of Communists. However, there is a strong possibility that the movement of troops is associated wgith the sweeping demands with which Japan is confronting the Chinese Government owing to tiie smuggling activities, and is believed to be part of a plan to torpedo Chinese currenoy reform generally, and so embarrass the Chinese administration tlial the Nanking Government will be unable to resist Japan's demands, which cloak an ambition to control all China, as she now controls Manchukuo.
