What is interpreted as the end of ail the efforts to secure direct monetary inflation, at least in. the present session of Congress, occurred to-day with the defeat by 235 votes to 142 in the House of Representatives of the Frazier-Lemke Farm Mortgage Refinancing Bill. The provisions of the measure, which were designed to aid agriculturists with pressing debts, would have been financed by the issue of 3,000,000.000 dollars’ worth of “ printing press ” money.
