EXTENSION OF BOROUGH.
MORRINSVILLE REQUEST. NEGOTIATIONS WITH COUNTY. (Special to Times). MORRINSVILLE, Friday. The possibility of extending the Borough of Morrinsville to take in three residential properties now in the Piako County to the east of the present borough boundary, was again referred to at Ihe meeting of the Morrinsville Borough Council. These property owners recently wrote to the council asking to be included In view of the high charges of £lO a year which they are paying for water supplied from the borough. The Mayor, Mr W. T. Osborne, explained Iliat at present the borough council was receiving £3O a year in water charges from these residents, but should they be included in the borough the rales to be collected would total only £l2, so that the council stood to lose financially although it would be a desirable thing lo bring more people into the borough. The Piako County Council collected only about £3 from these properties, but an alteration of the boundary would benefit the county to the extent that tiie borough would be liable for half llie upkeep of a boundary road 11 chains long. it had been hoped that representatives of the Piako County Council would have been present, but as they were not able to attend the matter was left to llie finance committee to confer with tiie County Council.
