FAREWELL EVENING.
FUNCTION AT MATANQI. Mr and Mrs Marychurch were host and hostess at a farewedl surprise evening at their home in Matangi on Thursday, for Mr and Mrs Tomlinson, who have been transferred to Bunnythorpe, after residing in the district for sixteen years, and will be greatly missed toy their many friends. The room was beautifully decorated jvitli bowls of autumn flowers and foliage. Mrs Marychurch received her guests wearing a smart frock of black Hat crepe, and Mrs Tomlinson wore a strawberry knitted suit. The evening passed very quickly with llag five hundred and a most enjoyable time was spent. Later a delicious supper was served. The winners of the cards were Mrs Tomlinson, Messrs. T. Shaw and It. Wright. Among those present were:—Mesdames Tomlinson, 11. Taylor, T. Shaw, Wright, Pawson, Burnett, Hicks. Misses Gwen and Pat Hicks.
