GIRLS’ HOCKEY DANCE.

CAMBRIDGE CLUB EVENING. A most enjoyable dance, organised by the Girls’ Hockey Club, was held in the Leamington Hall on Wednesday evening. The hall was decorated with mauve and green streamers, while bowls of white and yellow chrysanthemums were arranged on the stage. Excellent music was played by Clayton’s Dance Band and extras by Misses I. Newcom.be and J. Miller. Novelty dances were won by Miss Russo and partner, and Miss W. Hayson and partner. A competition was won by Mr Bert Cubis (junior). A dainty supper was served by the ladies’ committee, comprising: Mesdames Dray, wearing blue marocain, Kingdon, black crepe-de-chine; Hall, black chiffon velvet; Johnson, black lace; McKinnon, black tulle and silver lame. Mr Alan Dray was M.C. Among those present were:—Mesdames Leckie, wearing apple green crepe de chine. Misses D. Old (New Plymouth), flame crepe de chine; L. Beange, nigger brown crepe; J. Miller, blue crinkle crepe and pink chenille velvet coatee; K. Miller, tartan taffeta; D. Bright, red marocain, and grey coatee; Edith Cubis, Chinese blue marocain; Gwen Lowe, flame organdie and black silk coatee; C. Rice (Hamilton), white satin; Winnie Greenhalgh, white satin and black coatee; M. Sutcliffe, black skirt and apricot crepe tunic blouse; J. Russo, airforce blue crepe and silver lame; Zelda Dray, black velvet; E. Billing, black velvet; Beryl Cubis, black ripple satin; Betty Oaten, black and white tartan taffeta; Myra Cubis, Mauve sprigged organdie; P. Greenhalgh, red marocain; P. Miller, lemon crackle crepe; Marion Boulton, pink sprigged voile; June Boulton, Nile green marocain; I. Newcombe, black silk velvet; W. Hay son, green crepe de chine.
