V ALEDICTORY.

MR AND MRS c. E. JENKINS. ,_.__._. Popular residents of Taiuanui for the past six and a half years, Mr and Mrs v(.‘. E. Jenkins were the guests at a social in the Tnluanui Hall on Suturday evening. Mr Jenkins, who has been hmdmaster of the Taluanui school was recently appointed to the staff of the Gladstone Road'School, Auckland.

Music for dancing was provided by Mr G; Lee and extras were played hy Mrs W. Hector and Messrs L. Billman and L. Russell.

Songs were given by Miss M. Dar—rall nnri Messrs L. Biilumn, J. Lee and L. Ecillin, and monologues by Miss P. Luxion. Elocuiion was given by live pupils of the school, Muriel Shirley, Mavis Siockbridge, Eileen Larsen, Doris Elliott and Enid Stewart. On behalf of the Tatuanui branch of the Women‘s Division of the Farmers' Union, Mrs F. J. Shirley pre—sented Mrs Jenkins, who had been presideni of the branch for the past year, with a posy of autumn blooms,

On behalf of the ’l‘atuanui Croquet Club, Mrs A. \Vratt presented an artistic cup, saucer and plate to Mrs Jenkins, who had been both secretary and president in turn. Mr N. Dev made 8. presentation or a travelling run: to Mr and Mrs Jenkins, on Dev half of the residents of the district. and the presentation of a pair of brass book-ends and a coffee set was made on behalf of the pupils by Charles Elliott. As a memento of her pleasant as—sociation with the Croquet Club. Mrs Jenkins asked Mrs A. Wratt to accept a silver cup as a club trophy. Mr and Mrs Jenkins suitably responded. Musical honours were accorded the guests of the evening and a very en—joyable evening was brought. to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syria."Mr N. Day was MI: MISSES A. A. DODD AND s.
