NEGLIGENCE CHARGE.
CASE DISMISSED. CORONER'S FINDING. (Special Reporter.) TE AROHA. \Vednesday. Charged with negligently driving a motor—truck, thereby causing the death of an elderly man named Thomas Doyle on the night. 01‘ April 16, Rob—ert. Allen Pole, a plumber, or .\lorrins—ville. was discharged in the Magis—trate‘s Uourl."l‘e Arohu. yesterday'l‘he case was heard before Messrs. G. Hedge and J, P. llephurn, J.s'P.. while the coroner. Mr N. J. liay, heard the depositions for the inquest. The justices held that the police had failed to establish a prima facie case. It was alleged by the police that the lights on Pole's vehicle were inefficient; and that he had failed to take reasonable cure. \\’itnesses called by the police stated that deceased had been drinking during the afternoon and that he was drunk.
The coroner returned a verdict that deceased met, his death through a fractured vault of the skull, received when struck by a motor—truck driven by Robert Allen Pole.
