J. Coles, 74s 9d; Morris Hedstrom, 25s 9d. YOUNG MAN KILLED. FALL FROM BRIDGE. CALLED OUT “ GOOD-BYE." AUCKLAND, Tuesday. An unknown man, aged about 25, fellvfrom Grafton Bridge at 2 p.m. today and was killed. He was seen to climb the parapet. He then threw down some letters and called out “ Good-bye.” The body was later found in the gully. GUILTY OF RECEIVING. JUDGE EXTENDS LENIENCY. Wellington, luesaay. James Vernon Brown, found guilty yesterday or receiving six wireless sets, with a recommendation to mercy, was to-day admitted by Mr Justice Smith to probation for three years and ordered to pay £ls 3s 6d, tho costs of the prosecution. The judge said no was satisnea tne accusea wf.s merely the tool in the hands of more experienced criminals. He had to take account of the jury’s recommendation to mercy and he would givo him a chance; he trusted the accused would appreciate the lonienoy.
