COLLISION WITH TRUCK

ACCIDENT A‘l’ HILLGHEST. DEATH FOLLOWS IN HOSPITAL. Following grave iniuries received when his bicycle collided with at motor-truck on the Cambridge 110 ml ill Hillcrest at 8 o'clock on Salurda} evening, Mr Harry \\'. \\'illiamson. “86d 47, a married man employed by the Public Works Department at Gordonton. died in the \\'aikato Hos—pital yesterday morning. Mr \Villiamson was proceeding in a isoutherly direction when he collided lwith the truck, which was driven by er W. L. Hartstone, of Te Kowhai. He was thrown heavily On to the bitumenised road, suffering a fracture at the base of the skull and cerebral hemorrhage.

Mr Williamson was admitted to the Waikato Hospital in a - St. John Ambulance in a critical condition and died some 12 hours later. An inquest was opened and adjourned after evidence of identification had been tendered. The bicycle was extensivel) damaged but the motor—truck escaped lightly from the collision.
