Missiles at. a Traln.—Two youths were arrested for allegedly throwing a pumpkin at the north—hound Rotorua express between Karnka ant Paeratn on Saburday afternoon. The missile splintered a glass door and a passenger was out in the face by flying glass. The youths will be Charged at, Pukekohe to—‘dray.

’43) was fined £lO, or alternatively one month‘s imprisonment, and his license cancelled for six months for being intoxicated whilst in charge of a car. Evidence showed that Monrad had driven very erratically in Parnell Road, on Friday night colliding with a parked car, running on to 'ihe foot—path, and finally running into an exca—vation. The presiding magistrate expressed the opinion that Monrad was “not fit to he on the road."
Indigent "limit—Owing to the un—satisfactory season and the failure of crops, there is considerable indisence amongst Maoris in the Poverty Bay district. Special committees of natives have been set up to deal with the matter.
