RECOVERY IN NOTE ISSUE. DECREASE IN DEPOSITS. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday, May 4, was gazetted to-night. The statement is balanced at £28,847,793 or £2,66,200 less than at the close of the previous week. The note issue, which had recorded' several reductions from the Easter holiday level lias now recovered to the extent uT £17,217. Government deposits are £107,408 lower, while those of the trading hanks have fallen by £174,923. On the assets side sterling exchange is £309,155 lower in value than a week before. Subsidiary coin has fallen by £2596. Other assets show an increase of £45,699. The statement with variations compared with the week before is as follows : LIABILITIES. Variation 1.
