(To the Editor.) Sir, —As an ex-resident of the Waikato 1 have been struck by the prominence given in tlie Wellington and provincial papers to the resolutions passed at the conference of dairy factory representatives in Hamilton on Monday* It is clear that the Waikato holds pride of place as a butter-pro-ducing district, and the views of the leaders of the industry there carry weight. The protest against the control of marketing being taken out of the hands of the industry and against State ownership was discussed by a party of farmers, in an informal way to-day, and 1 listened with interest. They all stressed the resolutions telegraphed from Hamilton, and said that the industry must support the request for particulars on which prices are to be fixed. It was good to -see the importance they attached to the views of the Waikato farmers, and it seems likely that they will follow the lead given.—l am, etc., L. BUSHE. Palmerston North, May 6.
