ROAD ACCIDENTS.

' (To the Editori) Sim—The appalling loss of life and plush-u! disuhlement which occurs in lNew Zealand nearly every week-end iihrough motor accidents is a factor ttimt requires attention of our trams ‘coutroliers and the Department re—‘sponsihie. ‘ The question reverts to the issue of licenses to many people who think in terms of speed. Upon referring to a car we always think in terms of mileage per hour. This state of mind produces a psychological complex that is dangerous to all users of the road. whether they be motorists. cyclists or pedestrians. I suggest to all road—users to thing in terms of “feet per second," as suggested by one of our Supreme Court Judges recently. By concentrating upon feet rather than miles the cause of many accidents would be eliminated—l am, etc., STATISTICS. llamiiion, May 5.
