OTOROHANGA.
RABBIT PEST CONTROL. The Otorolianga Rabbit Board held its monthly meeting- on Monday. The reports of the board’s rabbiters from the various districts, were considered and indicated that good work was being done in reducing the rabbit population. The Minister in charge or the unemployment schemes advised that he would extend No. 11 scheme until the end of the year.—lt was decided to thank the Minister lor the concession and to request him to extend the scheme to March 31st.. 19 37, In order that the board would have the use of this class of labour to make a good clearance of the rabbit pest It was disclosed that no fewer than 1050 rabbits were destroyed on one Quaere farm in the Otewa district, and there were still a rew left on the holding. Rates are now coming irr more satisfactorily and the financial position of the board has much improved as a consequence.
