Formerly a member of the first division of the New Zeaiaml Armed Constabulary, which took part in the Search for the famous Tc Kooil after the Poverty Bay massacre in 1868, Mr George Bailey, of Princess Street. Hamilton, celebrated his 89th birthday on Saturday. Mr Bailey is one or the t'ew surviving members of the division. Born in \\'eymouih. England. Mr Bailey came to New aniand as a boy of H, taking up a position on a farm at. Pakurangu.
