TE AKAU NEWS.
POSTER DANCE. A very successful poster dance was held in 'the hall on Tuesday evening in aid of the new tennis court, which has just been finished. Some very good advertisements were exhibited, the prizes going to N.2.’Herald, worn by Miss Dorothy Wilson, and Michelin Tyres, worn by Mr Ron Crosher. Progressive bridge was also played in the supper room, the winner being Mr A. Wilson. Dancing was indulged in till the small hours of the morning, and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought ?. pleasant evening to a close. Among those present were: —Mesdames Clemett, Parker, Goodall, Uallaher, McGuire, Ludgate, Macdonald, Henry, Haddow, Seavill, Wilson, Coleman, Jarvis, Russek; Misses M. Henry, E. Snodgrass, N. Rapson, G. Philburn, D Henry, P. Philburn, G. Richards, J. Tapp. F. Richards, E. Cocker, Williams. Mr 0. Merlo carried out the duties of M.C., and extras were played by Mrs Goodall and Mrs Russek. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss Coker and Mr E. Running.
