, ADDINGTON MARKET. The yardings at the weekly metropolitan market at Addington* were of •j medium size in each of the major sec- • tions and the general quality of the j stock was ordinary. Store Sheep.—There was a slightly larger entry of store sheep and the sale throughout was very satisfactory but there was no quotable change in prices. Values were: Extra good ewe hoggets to 23s 9d, good to 17s 6d, ’ good wether hoggets to 16s lOd, me- ’ chum to 13s Id, ordinary to 10s 7d, good mixed sex hoggets to 16s Bd, forward halfbred wethers 19s to 21s, ordinary two-tooth to 13s, merino wethers to 5s 3d, ordinary ewes and lambs (all counted) 9s -6d to 12s. Spring Lambs. —There was an entry of 52 head, compared with 26 head last week. prices did not atj tain the high level of last week but j were satisfactory. The top price was 40s Id. Fat Sheep.—There was a small yarding and the quality was not as good as at recent sales, but the auction was a keen one and last week’s rates were maintained. Extra prime heavy wethers made up to 37s 6d, prime heavy 26s 6d to 30s, mediumweight prime 24s 6d to 265, second quality 22s 6d to 245, light 19s to 2‘2s, extra prime ewes to 31s Id, prime 22s 6d to 265, medium 17s to 225, light 14s to 16s 6d. Fat Cattle. —There was an entry of 240 head and the sale was a very free one, although there was no quotable change in values. Best medium weight beef made from 47s to 51s per 1001 b, heavy steer beef. 40s to 43'S, cow beef to 435, ordinary beef 36s to 38s. Extra prime heavy steers made up to £25 2s 6d, prime heavy £l9 to £22 ss, prime medium weight £ls 10s to £lB 15s, medium quality £l2 10s to £ls, light £9 10s to £l2, extra prime heifers to £lB 12s 6d, prime £l3 15s to £l6 ss, medium £ll to £l3 10s, light £7 10s to £lO 10s, extra prime cows to £lB 17s 6d, prime £l2 10s to £ls 15s, medium £lO to £l2, light £7 to £9. Vealers. —There was a larger entry of vealers and everything sold at rates on a par with those ruling last week. The top price was £7 13s 6d. Dairy Cattle. —There was an entry of 57 head and- the quality was very ordinary. Buyers mostly were only prepared to pay about £8 to £'9 for the best cows. Fat Pigs.—-The yarding of porkers was fnuch larger than has been the case for some time, there being about 360 ‘head forward. Prices over the whole sale were a shade easier than at the last market, but competition was spirited on the new basis of values. Choppers were in good supply and met with a ready sale. Pork- , ers made 55s to £3 ss, heavy porkers | to £3 15s 6d (average price per lb 9*d to 10:£d) ; toaconers £4 to £5, ! heavy baconers to £5 16s 6d (average price per lb 8d to Bid), choppers £4 8s 6d to £lO Is. Store Pigs.—The yarding totalled 172 head and the sale was a brisk one. Large stores were in short supply and sold at rates fully up to those ruling at the last market. Large stores made 38s to 53s 6d, medium 34s to 375, small 30s to 32s 6d, slips 27s | to 29s 6d, weaners 22s to 29s 6d. j
