TE AROHA NOTES.
A., P. & H. Association. At a meeting of the A., P. and H. Committee, Mr F. M. Strange presided. I-Ie stated that members’ subscriptions outstanding amounted to £l2O, of which £SO should he forthcoming at an early date. The matter of arranging the Queen Carnival 'ceremony was left to a committee, to include Mr W. C. Kennedy. The offer of Mr W. A. Clark to compile the show schedule was accepted with thanks. Drainage Board Amalgamation. Mr W. J. Andrews presided at the monthly meeting of the Elstow Drainage Board. A letter from the Minister of Internal Affairs was accompanied by a copy of the clause proposed to he included in the Local Legislation Bill relative to 'amalgamation. The object of the clause was to provide that, in the event of the union of the four districts., or any of them, there shall be power to fix a board of trustees not exceeding 12. The clause did not attempt to bring about union, as that question would he considered in the 1 usual way under the provisions of the ; Land Drainage Act. It also provided that in the event of the united district being divided into subdivisions each subdivision would be represented by not less than one or more than live l members.
