Matthews, Miss Amy Johnson’s instructor, will leave Croydon on September 16 in an attempt to fly to Darwin and back within a fortnight, using a standard Puss (Moth, with extra tanks. His outward stages will be Sofia, Bagdad, Calcutta, Singapore, Flores and Darwin, thus reaching Australia in six days. After a rest of a day at Darwin ha proposes to return in the same time.
