HOCKEY.

OLD BOYS’ CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING' ELECTION OP OFFICERS. The annua] meeting of the Old Bovs’ Hockey Club was held last evening, Mr R. Allen occupying the chair. There was a large attendance of members and the enthusiastic nature of the meeting augurs well for that club's performances this year. The Annual Report. The annual report states that the club again had a large membership at the beginning of the season, and decided to enter one junior team and two senior teams in the Waikato Hockey Association’s competitions. The junior team this year was a strong combination of young players, who should do well in the club in following years. In previous years this team has experienced difficulties in fielding eleven men, but 1 am pleased to be able to record that this year they had no difficulties in this respect, and they won the Waikato Hockey Association’s Junior Championship. The majority of the members of the Colts’ team lacked enthusiasm after their third game. This was very disappointing, especially to those who continued to turn out for this team, and it is hoped that next year all members will, if possible, play the season through. The Colts were very unlucky In losing Mr A. Storey, who has been in this club a good many years, and who was a keen supporter and promising player. Although this team was so greatly handicapped they put up a good opposition in every game they played. As in Ihe past four consecutive years, our senior team went through the competitions without'a loss, gaining Ihe Killip Memorial Shield and the Hooper Cup. No mention of this team would be complete without reference to the splendid services of their captain, Mr R. Alien. His capabilities as a captain and player have been thoroughly proved and I would like to record ihe club’s appreciation of his activitiesThe club was well represented in the Waikato and Hamilton representative honours, in both grades. It is with great pleasure I report the enjoyable trip to Auckland made by a Hamilton High School Old Boys’ representative team, of which Ihe majority of players were members of our club, to play the Auckland Grammar School Old Boys. An even and exciting game resulted in a draw, with no score to either side. The club would be well advised to make this an annual fixture. During ihe competition games our teams travelled lo Ngahinapouri ami Kaipaki, and were always greeted with the usual and unfailing hospitality extended by the ladies and members of these clubs. The club records their appreciation for the many enjoyable visits we have hacl to these districts. The club is in a good financial position, with a balance of £2 Is 5d cash in hand. Election of Officers. The following officers were elected: President, E. Wilson, Esq.; vicepresidents, Messrs T. Ewan, W. J. King, It. McUaw, A. W. Simms, S. J. Rawlinson, 11. G. Ross and l)r. Han-all; club captain, Mr A. W. Simms; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr M. West; assistant secretary, Mr B. Fabling; delegates to Waikato Hockey Association, club captain, secretary and Mr F. Graig; general committee, club captain, secretary. Messrs li. Alien, T. Jane and F. Graig; hon. auditor, Mr N. N. Ross.
