BRITAIN’S FINANCE.
DEFICIT FOR THE YEAR. FALL IN REVENUE. INCREASE IN EXPENDITURE. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel.—Copyright. LONDON, April 1. The national financial year ended last night with a deficit of £14,523,000, which compares with a surplus of £15,394,000 at the end of the previous year. The revenue in the period just closed totalled £7 34,189,000, which is £23,915,000 below that of last year, also £12,111,000 less than Mr. Winston Churchill’s revised estimate of April, 1929. The expenditure in the past financial year amounted to £748,712,000 or £9,002,000 more than that of the previous year and £6,748,000 above the Budget estimate.
