AN AVERAGE YARDING. NO IMPROVEMENT IN DEMAND. NO CHANGE IX VALUES. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report : At Westfield there was an average yarding with no improvement in demand. Quotations were much the same as last week. Extra choice ox sold to 37s per :100 lb; choice and prime, 34s to 3Gs; secondary and plain, 31s lo 335; prime young cow and heifer beef, 30s to 335; secondary, 27s to 295.

Extra heavy prime steers ranged from £ls to £ls 15s; heavy, £l4 to £l4 17s 6d; lighter, £l2 10s to £l3 15s; light, £ll to £l2 ss; small and unfinished, £9 to £lO 15s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO to £lO 15s; heavy, £8 5s to £9 15s; lighter, £7 to £8 2s 6d; light, £6 to £6 7s 6d; others, £4 10s to £5 15s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd-, report : At. our weekly Westfield fat stock sale, held to-day, we penned ox beef in numbers well up to usual, with the quality first-class, selling under steady competition from all operators. Last week’s values were maintained. Cow' and heifer beef also came forward in usual numbers, for which competition was inclined to be easier, but taken generally the previous week’s values again ruled. Extra choice ox sold to 37s per 1001 b; choice and prime, 34s to 365; secondary and plain, 32s to 335; prime young cow and heifer beef, 30s to 335; ordinary cow beef 24s to 295, Prime steers made £l3 15s 2s 6d; lighter prime steers, £l2 5s to £l2 15s f light prime steers,' £ll 7s 6d to £ll 15s; small and unfinished, £9 17s 6d to £lO 2s 6d; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO to £lO 15s; heavy prime cows and heifers, £8 10s to £9 7s 6d; lighter prime cows and heifers, £7 10s to £8 ss; other killable cows, £6 to £6 17s 6d.
