Dr. P. H. Buck, of the Institute of Pacific Relationships, Honolulu, is at the Empire Hotel. He visited Ngaruawahia to-day.
Air W. H. Bic.kley, of the literary staff of the Daily Telegraph, Napier, lias accepted a similar appointment witli the Christchurch Sun.
Rear-Admiral 11. E. Grace, a son of the cricketer, Dr. AY. G. Grace, has been promoted Vice-Admiral on his retirement.
Air P. G. Lewis left Cambridge on Monday night for Napier, where he will take up his duties as an inspector under the Hawke’s Bay Education Board.
Alessrs E. G. Johnson, A. B. Collier, 11. Yalder, G. Boyes, and H- Clark left this morning for the Chateau Tongariro to represent the Hamilton Rotary Club at the annual Rotarians’ conference.
Rev. Wesley Parker, who had been acting as “ supply ” for the Cambridge Alethodist circuit during the past three months, left Cambridge on Alonday to take up the duties of second minister in the Auckland West (Ponsonhy) circuit.
Professor J. R. Brown, of Wellington, Professor J. Flight, of Christchurch, and Professor ii. W. Segur, of Auckland, have been elected to represent the Academic Board of the University of New Zealand on the University Senate.
Colonel T. A. Hunter, late director of dental hygiene, has been appointed to represent New Zealand dentists at the fiftieth anniversary of the British Dental Association, which will be celebrated in May, and lie will sail on the Reinuera to-day.

Air W. FI. Jenkins, manager of the local branch of Messrs W. D. and H. O. Wills (N.Z.), Ltd., has been promoted to manager of the Auckland branch of the firm. lie will leave Hamilton on Friday to take up his new duties. Air A. L. Drury, of Auckland, lias been appointed manager of the Hamilton branch.
