THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
CIVIC RECEPTION AT AUCKLAND, AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The Town Hall was filled last evening when a civic reception was extended to the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloc and Lady Bledisloe. The proceedings were accompanied by frequent bursts of applause. An address was read by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon and it will be engrossed and presented in a permanent form to Their Excellencies. The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, spoke on behalf of the Government.
His Excellency read a formal reply and followed it with remarks which evoked many expressions of appreciation from his listeners.
