ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
TOUR OF AUSTRALIA. AUCKLAND, Wednesdays The Control Board of the Auckland Football Association met last evening. The New Zealand Football Association wrote asking for nominations for the positions of manager and assistantmanager to the New Zealand team if the tour to Australia could be finalised. It was decided to nominate Mr F, Campbell, chairman of the New Zealand Football Association, for the position of manager and to recommend that the sole selector for team should be offered the position of assistant-manager.
Regarding remits to be brought forward at the annual meeting of the New- Zealand Football Association, to be held in Wellington on April 14, it was decided that Auckland Associalion’s delegates he instructed to bring forward a recommendation that dispensation be sought from the English Football Association allowing the replacement of injured men in all matches in New Zealand.
It was also decided to suggest that the English trophy matches be playe'd on the system adopted in Plunket Shield cricket at present, provinces to play one another “ home and away ” in alternate seasons.
Tiie committee w\as of the opinion that the profits and losses on English trophy . matches be divided equally among the four provinces.
