ROWING,
UNIVERSITY CONTEST. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The annual eight-oared boat race of the New Zealand University Colleges, is to take place on Saturday, April 19, at Auckland. The trophy for the event is a shield of beautiful Maori carving, which was presented by Misses Heberly, of Lower Hutt. In the . last three years Victoria College has been successful, and has a good crew this year. The sole selector has chosen the following crew to represent Victoria College:—Bell (stroke), Mullins i 7), Gane (6), Kemp (5), Steele (4), MacGregor (3), McGavin (2). Rees (bow), Gooch (cox). CANTERBURY* REPRESENTATIVES. (By Telcc-ranii.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The following crew will represent the Canterbury College Rowing Club at the New Zealand University tournament to be held in Auckland at Easter: —T. H. McCombs, H. C. Holland, C. H- J. Gilby, S. B. Wallace, T. R. Evans, H. Waymouth, V. Smith, and D. M. Patterson.
