TE KAWA NEWS
FAREWELL SOCIAL. The farewell social given to Mr. and Mrs. J. Murcott (who are shortly leaving for Dagl-and) on Thursday evening was a distinct success. The hall was comfortably filled with dancers and Mr. W. R. Burton was an effloient M.G. The Te Awamutu orchestra dispensed excellent music and Mcsdames S. Broadbent and M. A. Ashton contributed extras. After the supper was served Mr. S. G. .Broadbent asked the guests of the evening to accept, on behalf of the district, a silver tea service as a mark of esteem In which they arc held. Mr. Broadbent remarked on tho many services performed by Mr, Murcott for the Sports Club especially, He wished them good luck in their new walk of life, Mr. Murcott briefly responded. Dancing was then continued for some time, when the gathering dispersed after the singing of Auld Lang byne.
