Before painting a window or picture frame, rub soap on the glass near the edges, and any paint splashes on Ihe glass can then toe easily removed when dry. if vaseline is applied lo door-knobs and hardware before painting the wood, any spots can easily be removed. ,A mackintosh may he shortened by cutting to the required length, allowing -a hem of three inches, then turn up the hem, damp the edge with water, and press with a hot iron.
