Sir Maui Pomare; M-P., who has been in ill-health for some Lime, is reported to be progressing favourably. It is probable that he will spend the winter abroad. The lion. P. A. de la Pcrrelle, who has been visiting the West Coast of the South Island, has returned to Wellington. The Hon.. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Labour, who is visiting Taranaki, will return to Wellington on Wednesday. ■Colonel D. Gunn, of Salvation Army Headquarters, Wellington, who spent the week-end in Hamilton, left for the South last night. Grand Central Hotel guests include Messrs W. I-I. Hardley, K. Dunbar, W. Malhieson (Wellington), J. Wilson, W. Irwin, 11. O'Connor, M. Meek, and H. Drury (Auckland). Mr G. 11. Plummer, who is retiring from the position of inspector -of schools, was presented by his colleagues at Auckland with a set of volumes and a‘fountain pen on Saturday. Messrs W. E. Cathie (Wellington), C. Wilkins. J. Seabrook, F. Pope, J. D. Davies, G. 11. Donald, T, W. O’Malley, L. M. O’Malley, R. J. Davidson (Auckland), M. Wrighton (ltotoluna), A. H. Grant and F. F. Dargavillc) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
