annual meeting. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. The Hamilton Harriers’ Club held Its annual meeting last evening, Mr F. A. de la Mare presiding. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. A credit balance of £7 5s 5d was shown, which is an increase of £3 Os 9d over that of last year. In view of 'the club s activities during the past year this was considered very satisfactory. The membership numbered to. rne total attendance at the runs during the season was 263, the average attendance being 11.5. Seventeen runs, five races and .twelve invitation runs were held during the year. Attendance badges were presented to Messrs C. Mclntyre, J. Ladd, S. F. Hovey H. M. Henry, S. Oliver, L. Hodgson and S. A. Shepherd. A points shield, presented by the late Mi' L. W W. Browm for the harrier who received the highest number of points, was annexed toy Mr H. M. Henry. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs J. Wild, W. H. Frye, A. Bonovan, F. Jones, and G. L. Austin, who presented medals for competition, and to Mr J. A. Young, M.P., and Mr MacLennan, who made donations. Thanks were also tendered to the Hamilton Racing Club for the use of the Te Rapa Racecouse and to the Y.M.G.A. for the use of facilities in the building. The chairman made reference to the passing of the late Mr L. W. W. Brown who, he said, had always been a sportsman in all branches. Mr Brown had assisted the club financially and had also -shown great personal interest in the club’s welfare. In Ids untimely demise the club and the community in general had lost a keen supporter of all amateur sport. A vote of sympathy ■with Mrs Brown and her family was passed, the members standing in silence. Election of Officers. The eleotion of officers resulted as follows :—Patron, Mr J. A. Young M.P.; president, Mr E. V. Stace; vicepresidents Messrs F. A. de la Mare, F. Watson, J. Wild, T. MacLennan, F. Jones, W. H. Frye, T. Prosser; club captain, Mr S. Oliver; deputy-captain, Mr C. Mclntyre; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr L. G. Turner; hon. medical adviser, Dr. Milroy; committee, the club’s officers and Messrs Ladd, Watson, Elliott and Henry; delegate to centre, Mr Turner; hon. auditor, Mr E. V. Reisterer. The opening day for the coming season was set down for April 26, at a jlace to toe decided.
