The city of Chicago is paralysed by the fall of snow which accompanied yesterday’s blizzard. In some places the snow lies 18 inches deep. Thousands of people are snowbound in their homes or offices. Transportation is completely demoralised. The surface ear facilities arc snowed under, and more than 20,000 men have found it impossible to make a dent in the deep-packed snow on lhe tracks. Policemen are guarding all the transportation stations in order to prevent crowding, which caused . many people to he injured yesterday.
