BUTTER PRICES IN LONDON. LOWEST FOR YEARS. For the first time since the postwar slump period, New Zealand butter prices in London have fallen below 130 s a hundredweight, namely, to 128 s. A cablegram dated March 25, received by Newton King, Ltd., from R. and W. Davidson, Ltd., London, gives the following quotations:— Salted butter, 128 s to 130 s; unsalted, 146 s to 150 s. It states that the market is weak. \ message from the London house of* Dalgety and Co., Ltd., also dated March 25, reports that prices are Is to 2s lower than the last quotations (130 s to 1325). DROP IN PRICES. BUTTER AND CHEESE LOWER. Messrs Dalgety and Company Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London House dated 23th instant: Messrs. Samuel Page and Son report,:—Butter, prices are Is to 2s lower (last quotations 130 sto 1325). Cheese, coloured Is per cwt. lower (last quotation for coloured 81s to 82s). MARKETS EXTREMELY QUIET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, has received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 20th instant. (Last week’s quotations in parenthesis) : Butler: New Zealand choicest salted, 128 s to 130 s per cwt. (138 s). Cheese: White, 7Ds per cwt. (82s to 83s). Coloured 81s per cwt. (83s to 84s). Markets are extremely quiet.
