HAWKE CUP GAME. RANGITIKEI COMPILE 177. MANAWATU AT THE WICKETS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Thursday. In the Hawke Cup cricket match which was commenced here yesterterday between Manawatu (holders) and Rangitikei, the latter’s first innings closed for 177 runs. Manawatu had scored 77 for one wicket when stumps were drawn yesterday. When play was resumed to-day McVicar and Pacey soon reached the century. After that wickets fell rapidly, the score at the luncheon adjournment being 162 for six wickets. Details are:— RANGITIKEI. First Innings 177 MANAWATU. —First Innings.
