There is . widespread' general and medical interest in the case of Evan Burt, who was registered and has since lived as a girl. He dressed as a man for the first time to-day. He stated: “I have been forced all my life to wear pinafores and play with dolls in the companionship of girls. Now I am a mail I can. go to public houses, drink, smoke, and wear men’s clothes." _ . As the result of protracted negotiations the Registrar-General has agreed lo change his birth registration from a girl Lo a boy. Burt agrees that men’s clothes are uncomfortable, and he prefers the dress and apron which he has worn for 29 years. He is to be married at Easter, and it is unlikely that he will settle in his native town, which is staggered by the revelations.
