The Piako Association's tennis tournament opened this morning on the Herriesville courts, in beautiful weather. There was a fair attendance of the public. FINALS IN LADIES’ CONTESTS. (By Telegraph,—Press Association,) TE AROHA, Wednesday. The Piako tennis tournament was continued to-day. Ladies’ Doubles. —Final: Misses’o. Luxton and Williams beat Mesdames Luxton and McLaren, 11—8. Ladies’ Singles.—Final: Miss Cook beat Miss Wells, 11—7. The other finals will probably be played at Ngarua. THE AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. In a rather one-sided game C. J. Donohue and Miss B. Knight annexed the championship from C. Sproule ancl Miss P- Miller. THE AUSTRALIANS’ DEPARTURE. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Two of the Australians, _J. T. Teague and C. Sproule left by the Niagara yesterday for Sydney. F. E. Kalms ancl C. J. Donohue will remain in Auckland until Friday, when they will sail by the Maunganui.
