No further trace has been found of the Rev. Father Fallon, who is missing from Petone.

An attempt to convene a meeting of members of Parliament early next session to discuss the position in the timber industry is being made by Mr C. 11. Clinkard, M.P. for Rotorua.

A young man named James hoyle was remanded at Hamilton to-day, on a charge of stealing a number of small articles to the value of 355, the property of Elizabeth A. Hawkins.

The delegations of farmers from Great Britain and South Africa, who have been in New Zealand for a little over a month and have completed a tour of the Dominion, left Auckland for Sydney yesterday by the Niagara.

The annual meeting of the Hamilton Rugby League, which was to have been held last evening, was postponed until later in the week owing to the sudden bereavement of one of the League's most prominent players, Mr W. J. Hogan.

To-morrow evening the Waikato Regimental and Hamilton Municipal Band will present a programme of items at Steele Park, in pursuance of lheir scheme of suburban concerts. The programme-will he commenced at 7.-15 p.m., and will doubtless provide an enjoyable entertainment.

An old-age pensioner named George Julian, died suddenly at Raglan on Tuesday afternoon. As he had been under medical treatment recently, and was known to suffer from heart trouble an inquest will not he necessary. Deceased was a member of a well-known old Taranaki family.

At the last practice of the Waikato Winter Show Philharmonic Society it was advised that Die services of the choir would be required at the forthcoming Winter Show. To enable Ibis to be done the choir would have to be argumcnled considerably, and the committee hoped that those interested would join up at once.

It is not proposed to abolish the automatic letter-stamping machines at present in use, but after the end of this year no more machines of the present type will be installed. This statement was made by the Chief Postmaster, Mr ,T. M. McLean, at a meeting of the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.

Tito Guides, Brownies, Scouts and Wolf Cubs paraded with their colours and standards, under their officers at the impressive ceremony of the dedication of the new company colours of the Morrinsville troop of Girl Guides at St. Matthew’s Church, Morrinsville. Canon H. 11. R. Gillespie officiated and there was a large attendance.

The inquest into the death of Walter Edwin Price, builder, of Palmerston North, who was found shot under strange circumstances in his home on March 5, has been definitely fixed for April 4. It is understood that 10 or 15 witnesses will he called to give evidence. Both pathological and technical evidence will be submitted. So far the gun from which the fatal shot was fired has not been found.
