CROQUET TOURNAMENT.
SOUTH AUCKLAND CLUB.
The South Auckland croquet tournament opened on the Hamilton lawns on Monday morning with the handicap doubles, Play continued all day although marred by rain. Among those present were Mesdames Howe and Newman (Thames), Kerr, Porter, Neshanscn, Waterloo (Otorohanga), Bliss, Meikle, Goldsbury, Hepburn, Margison (Te Aroh-a), Rutler, G'ane .(Cambridge), York, Earle, Morrison, Carbon, Wilkes Coomhes; Misses Earle and Prentis (Hamilton), Mcsdames Sayers, Lamprill, Salisbury, Hargreaves, Curling, Munro (Claudelands), I-lawken, I-lodg-kinson, Evans, Kibblewhite, Miss lbbotson (Whitiora), Mcsdames Belgrave, O’Brien, Dillicar, Wigzcll, Brockelsby (Frankton) ; also the president of the Association (Mrs G. Bartlett), the treasurer (Mrs D. Andrews) and the secretary (Mrs W. Fraser). Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch are being dispensed by members of the Hamilton Club.
The championship events will begin on the Frankton lawns to-day (Wednesday)
