TE AKAU NEWS.
PLEASANT DANCE. A very pleasant dance was held under Hie auspices of the School Picnic Committee. The music, which was excellent, was supplied by M. Prcndergust.’s orchestra from Ngaruawaluu, extras being played by Messrs I). Hart and ,1. Heath. Much credit is due In the committeemen’s wives for tlio supper provided. A sheep-guessing competition was run during the evening, the winner being Miss D. Henry.
Some of the adles present were:— Mcsdames Worm, in black crepe de chine; Cavana, floral silk; Gallaher, cream embroidered voile; Ludgate, white georgette and satin roses; Mellsop, ivory satin heavily beaded in silver; Mahood, blue crepe dc chine; McGuire, brick-red 'lace over satin and shawl; Misses G. Richards, reel beaded georgette; J. Tapp, mauve headed georgette; E. Coker, pale pink crepe de chine and silver lace; E. Snodgrass, black velvet and crepe de chine appliqued in red and green; P. Philburn, mauve satin; G. Philburn, pink crepe de chine and beads; M. Henry, black georgette and uneven hemline; D. Henry, white crepe de chine; N. Clarke, scarlet satin and georgette skirt; A. Bright, pink crepe de chine; N. Rapson, pink georgette and pointed skirt; Vera Worm, black georgette.
