PIAKO ROAD SCHOOL.
THE ANNUAL PICNIC. i The annual -picnic of the Plako Road School was held at the Hamilton Lake. There was a good attendance and a jolly time was spent. Mr C. E. Stanley, on behalf of the parents made a presentation to Mr Williams for his untiring efforts on behalf of the children's Sunday classes. Results of the races were: — Bovs: R. Thrupp, 1, F. Thrupp 2; Girls: D. Jones 1, E. Lea 2; Young Ladies: Miss Ellicott i, J. Riddington 2; Babies, H. Humphrey 1, M. O’Meara 2; Young Mens: M. Ridding: ton 1, D. Maunder 2; Egg and Spoon: E. Cain 1, Mrs 0. Trebes 2; Th - ">ding the Needle: 0. Trebes J. ' :v----aii 2; Married Ladies: Mrs 0. - cs I, Mrs J. Riddington 2; Girls Threelegged: E. Cain and J. Riddington 1, Boys Three-legged: F. Thrupp and J. Riddington 1; Married Mens: Mr 0. Trebes i, Mr Elliott 2,; Quarter Mile, F. Cronin 1. Special prizes presented by Mrs A. G. Bell, of Gordonton and Mr E. Jones of Hamilton, were won by Mist Ellicott and Miss Bowman.
