SIR ROGER KEYES
AN ADMIRAL OF THE FLEET. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel.—Copyright. LONDON, March 23. Admiral Sir Roger Keyes has been promoted to the rank of Admiral of the Fleet. Admiral Sir Roger Keyes, Bart., K.C-8., K.C.V.0., C.M.G., D. 5.0., is 57 years of age. 1-Ie was Commander-in-Chiel' in the Mediterranean from 1925 till 1928. He served with distinction in the Chinese rebellion and later was Naval Attache in that country. When war broke out lie was Commodore of the submarine service. He organised the brilliant naval attack on Zeebrugge and Ostcnd on April 23, 1918, and received knighthood in recognition of its success. He was Rear-Admiral commanding the Battle Cruiser Squadron, Atlantic Fleet, April, 1919-1921. He received baronetcy and grant of £lO,000 and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, October, 1921-1925. He was promoted to the rank of Admiral, March, 1926.
