At the wool sales 10,302 bales were offered, including 1700 from New Zealand. About 4000 bales were sold. There was a limited selection of greasy merino, a few scoureds, and a good supply of greasy crossbreds. A steady tone and good competition were experienced, prices reaching fully late rates. New Zealand clips: Greasy crossbreds, Kiora, top price 9id, average Sid; Holton, lid and 9}d; J.L.R., 10jd and 94d. At Bradford business in tops was slow at poor prices. STOCK SALE. AT FRANKTON YARDS. BEEF PRICES EASIER. An average yarding of fat and store cattle was penned at the weekly sale at the Frank toil yards this afternoon, and prices were again easier than the previous week. There was a veryheavy yarding of sheep, and a large yarding of fat and store pigs, with last week’s quotations ruling. The auctioneers up to the time of going to press quote as under: — Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report that there was a medium yarding of fat and store cattle, and an extra heavy yarding of sheep, including numerous lines of breeding ewes. There was a heavy yarding of fat and store pigs. Fat cattle sold at slightly easier rates than last week. Baconers were on a par, and porkers and store pigs were firm at late rates, We quote;—Good fat cows, £8 13s lo £9 ss; light and unfinished cows, £5 2s 6d to £6. Heavy baconers, £4 4s to £4 14s; medium baconers, £3 14s to £3 18s; best porkers, £3 to £3 8s; lighter ditto, £2 10s to £2 16s; choppers, £2 16s lo £4 9s; large stores, £2 5s lo £2 9s; medium stores, £1 17s to £2; best slips, 30s to 345; medium. 24s to 275; best weaners, 15s to 18s; others, 8s to 12s. Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Company, Ltd., quote:—Heavy fat bullocks, £l3 7s 6d to £l4; light fat bullocks, £ll 17s 6d to £l2 15s; heavy fat cows, £7 5s to £8; lighter fat cows, £6 10s to £7; light ditto, £4 10s to £6; runners, £2 15s to £3 2s; vealers, 15s to 295. Heavy fat wethers, 28s sd. Heavy baconers, £4 8s to £4 13s; medium baconers, £4 to £4 8s; light baconers, £3 13s to £3 18s; heavyporkers, £3 5s to £3 10s; light porkers. £2 12s to £3 3s.
