FIRE AT PUKEKOHE.

PUBLIC INQUIRY TO BE HELD. PUKEKOI-lE, Monday. An announcement that a public inquiry would be held into the origin of the Are in an occupied two-storeyed building in the main street at Pukekohe yesterday morning has been made by the district coroner, Mr C. K. Lawrie. Following the explosion, which awakened nearby residents and thus led to the discovery of the Are, footsteps were heard on the gravel path outside the building and the Agure of a man was seen in the dim light making his way from the rear of the building.
