RAILWAYMEN’S BALLOT.

ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE. MR LEWIN’S POLICY SUPPORTED. WELLINGTON, Monday. A victory for the supporters of Mr F. J. Lewin and the -principle of only active footplate men holding office Is stated to he the result of the ballot for the election of the new executive of the Enginedrivers, Firemen and Gleaners’. Association, details.of which were announced to-day. Mr Lewin was re-elected president, and the new executive consists of a majority of those supporting his policy. It is reported that the four members who were alleged to be concerned in the attempt on March 12 to take charge of the association's affairs were defeated at the poll. A meeting of the new executive will be held at an early date, when-it is understood steps will be taken to restore the association to a proper footing. As the result of the election, the following executive was returned: — President, Mr F. J. Lewiii (Palmerston North) ; executive, Messrs P. Bond (representing Dunedin, Invercargill, Clinton and Oamaru districts), J. A. Veitch ( (Canterbury, Timaru, Otira, Westport, Greymouth), A. Johnson (Palmerston North. Wellington, Paekakiriki, Upper Ilult, Cross Creek, Masterton, Napier), 11. McNeill (New Plymouth, llawera, Wanganui, Taihape, Taumarunui, Ohakune). *
