LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

FRICTION IN ENGLAND. NEW ZEALANDERS’ DEMANDS. OMITTED FROM CUP SEMI-FINAL. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel.—Copyright. LONDON, March 23., Three New Zealand Rugby League players, Harclgrave, Hutt and Hall, who were brought from the Dominion in August to play for St. Helen’s, have addressed a claim lo the secretary of Ihe club demanding a guarantee of £3 lOs per week for 32 weeks, regardless of football earnings, and secondly, a guaranteed benefit of £250 each retaining fee. They declare that the work found for them is unsatisfactory from the wages viewpoint. The committee rejected the demands owing to the 'refusal of the New Zealanders to allow the matter to remain in abeyance until after the League Cup semi-final, and all three have been omitted from the team to meet Wigan.
